I have been sewing since I was 11 years old. My mom always says it took her having three daughters before one wanted to learn to sew. I shadowed her for a long time, learning how to make clothes and how to read patterns. I also learned from her good friend Treva Griffin. She taught me alterations and encouraged me to pursue my love of sewing. My mom started working at Sew from the Heart and I followed suit as the store and everyone in it was so friendly to me.

I’ve taken college courses on pattern drafting and draping, textiles and fashion merchandising and I love everything sewing. My first passion is garment sewing but it is no secret that I am falling in love with quilting and I can’t get enough of embroidery!

Currently, I teach classes on the My Label software, the Machine Mastery classes and occasionally fill in when needed on other classes. I enjoy teaching and I love meeting people and making relationships with everyone who comes into the store. I am pursuing a degree in Interior Design and I hope to always be involved in sewing through all stages of my life.
